Rockin’ the bling

I was flashing my ice ALL OVER the hospital today :)

I can’t help it, I’m freakin’ engaged and can’t hide the excitement!!!

I packed my lunch the night before, see:

Even in my extremely exhausted state (cross country flights are NOT my friend), I still managed to make a mean ass sammie, consisting of smart deli “turkey,” cranz, honey mustard, and lettuce on ww bread.

And as for the rest of the days munchies: Apricot Clif bar, Strawberry/Pomegranate odwalla bar, wasabi peas, and carrots.

Add a few billion pounds of coffee in there and call it a day!

I got home to an empty fridge, and decided to do something about it (in 5.2 seconds since I was starving).

Ultimately, I made the quickest and easiest thing because when I’ve got growling in my tummy, food trumps ALL.

Vegan crab cakes with a brocc/carrot slaw side salad.

Not so sure about the sauce…it was one of those flavors that was good and bad at the same time, and I kept trying more and more to determine if I liked it or not…I think I did?  Maybe it’s just been SO long since I’ve had anything dairy, I can’t remember what it tastes like, so this vegan version of RĂ©moulade sauce was a little iffy in my book.

I tried to arrange it pretty for you peeps :)

I also had a GN veggie burger with some of my home-made hummus and tortillas.  (I included the above photo of Gary Null’s veggie burgers since I always get questions on the brand I use – they are made and packaged in the store and I haven’t seen them anywhere else besides the local healthy foods store I shop at)

They are supah thick and delish.  Mmmm…

The creaminess going on here is INDESCRIBABLE.

I’m not above licking the container clean either.

Dessert was a no-brainer!

Back to work tomorrow.  I miss vacay!!

More west coastin’

I just couldn’t pack it all into one post (it was getting obscene).  So now I’m trying to pick out the very best of the best to share.

Athenos hummus is G-O-O-D, good!

Hummus and avocado = that’s AMORE!

NOM NOM.

As for wedding and late night partying…most of those pics are too R rated for blogging ;)

Here are a few, though.

Hooray for LA-LA-land friends!!

I tried to hit up all my fave spots from my college dayz, so in addition to my 539,026,148 trips to Whole Foods and Starbucks, we also went to PF Changs for dinner, followed by some Santa Monica bar hopping along the promenade…

And what would be a trip to Westwood without my other restaurant love, Damon & Pythias (I STILL have their number in my phone).  Sadly, the one and only Coral Tree Cafe was under construction (boo!) so we went to Literati Cafe instead.

Too much drinky drinky…HOW did I survive college?!?  More importantly, how did I even get passing grades!?!

I feel like a grandma now.  I can’t keep up with the young kids, with their boozin’ and twitter crap.

Anyways, I still managed to drink and dance the week away…and before I knew it, I was back in NYC, shivering on the LIRR platform, wondering when I became a grown up when spring would arrive on the East coast.

At least I had some of my old friends waiting for me when I got home :)

HOW did I live without dried figs and carob raisins for so long?  Now THAT is truly a miracle.

Still, my dried fruit sugar high was NO match for my drooping eyelids.  Round one: bed.

I can’t believe I have to work save lives tomorrow.  Pray for me my patients (they’ll need it) – just kidding!!!
