soynut butter goes with everything

Weekend, finally. I bought a jar of soynut butter yesterday evening (after work grocery shopping is dangerous). I finished the jar today. That's unacceptable!

I started the morning (ok, afternoon) with coffee (ff vanilla creamer, skim plus, and stevia).

Then I dug right into the soynut butter...I put it on EVERYthing I could get my hands on (including spoons by themselves). I finished off the Ezekiel bread with it (hmmm...approx 7 slices?) which was GREAT with a nice glass of silk soy milk and left me waaaaay full.
Then I decided I should probably get some fruit in my diet.
So I cut up an apple to dip in more soynut butter. This stuff is goooood.

Later on I snacked on a massive bag of yogurt covered pretzels. They are so rich, I can't believe I finished the entire bag (oh, who am I kidding, of course I knew I would polish the whole thing off)! But it was way too much food, and at this point I was really uncomfortably full.
Dinner, or whatever meal I was on at this point, was more carbs, and more soynut butter.

I got a new cereal! Nature's Path is SO good. I love all their products, so I was really excited to try this one out. It has a ton of different types of cereal grains in it and is low fat and high fiber. The official review: this is my new fav cereal!!! Omg it was good (see zoomed in photo of yum).

I added a bit of banana + soynut butter (obvi) + silk soy milk = mmm...heaven

I also finished the soynut butter at this point. Maybe I shouldn't buy this again for a while?

Then I had a nice fruit salad, with pineapple, cantaloupe, honeydew, grapes, blueberries, and strawberries!
At this point I was ready for a steamy Starbucks run! So I got a venti soy latte, which was everything I wanted and more.

Then as we were doing the laundry I had one last bowl of my new obsession. This time I added dried cherries and raisins with the slik soy milk (I didn't have any soynut butter left)!

Here's the final product! Perhaps I should try to get back on track tomorrow? (I have been saying that for 4 days now I think).
Good night!

day 'o grazing

Seriously, meals were kinda a lost cause today...I was doing random errands all day so I was in and out of the apt and grazing (like a cow?) the whole day long. Not that being busy is an excuse, because when it comes down to it, I was just lazy.

I started the day with some java x2. Mmmm...stevia and ff vanilla creamer included.

After coffee I had a bunch of soy bacon (some of which I photographed below) and headed out for a very important mission. Operation denim. I love shopping and hate it at the same time, especially for jeans.

Also, I had some santa cruz organic lemonade this morning. It is tart and sweet but doesn't leave that lemony taste in your mouth. In fact it is quite good, I think next time I'll buy their raspberry lemonade flavor.

After hours of browsing I returned home with less $$ and more clothes, so I guess it was a success? While I was out I snacked on both raisins and yogurt covered raisins :)

I also grabbed a soy latte on the way home (no surprise). Then I polished off the last of the hummus with the end pieces of the Ezekiel bread.

...and here I am mid grub sesh

Next up: gym! Nothing to report here, my work out is just so not interesting...

Dinner was more snacking. Nibble here. Nibble there.

Ok, here is (or what was) a MONSTER bad of yogurt covered pretzels I picked up on the way home from the gym. I literally ate the entire bag of them, which could have been anywhere from 50 to 75...I swear, once I discover something I like, it is only a matter of time before I go and overdose. I am definitely on the fast track for that, I can tell it is only a matter of time before that happens. Now I'm bouncing off the wall.

But still snacking...yes, that's Kyle in the background doing some cooking of his own.

Dessert (aka more snacks) included coconut date rolls (the most decadent things EVER) and half a bag of dried salty edamame. Since I am a lazy ass, I have no pictures, but let me just say, these coconut date rolls are like rich dense pieces of heaven. In the words of Ms. Ray, YUM-O!

Ok, off to pack my lunch for tomorrow and watch heidi klum (project runway).

v is for voracious

I was so excited as I woke up today because it was sunny and (more importantly) I knew I had a full day of football ahead of me. I just love fall so much. Kyle and I gradually made our way to the couch, enjoying a lazy start - Kyle made a fresh brew of coffee and dug into the weekend edition of the FT, while I did the crossword. The coffee didn't disappoint, it's a Starbucks blend (naturally) to which I added Stevia and ff vanilla creamer and lactose free skim plus. For the record, let me just say, my attempt(s) at making my own soymilk latte at home have been complete and utter busts. So, while I am absolutely beyond addicted to them, I can't justify spending the $$ on days when I am at home and perfectly capable of making my own coffee. So, that said, I had 2 cups of what you see below this AM, and I was quite content with them.

For brunch I had another cute little silk soymilk bottle and a breakfast sando. One of the pieces of bread myseteriously vanished (in my mouth) while I was cooking, but other than that I used all the ingredients seen below.

Smart deli soy bacon, egg beaters, and ff Chobani greek yog.

Here's me enjoying a crispy organic apple (while diligently tracking our fantasy football score on my comp in the background) in the afternoon.
I headed off to the gym around half time of the Giants vs Bengals game. So my workout FLEW by since I was immersed in the game. I did minimal floor mat exercises after running because the game went into overtime and I wanted to get home to watch it! I should probably have stretched a bit longer but se la vie.

Later on I had this snack of chocolate silk soymilk. Mmmmm...

Kyle and I also went on a walk before dinner, and since we stopped in at my new fav (uptown) health food store while we were out and about, I couldn't help but grab some yogurt covered pretzels. They are SO good! It is hard to tell from the photo, but there are approx 30+ and I ate them all (duh)!

I was not that hungry in the PM, so dinner was kinda weird. I had the last of the 7 sprouted grain bread with hummus.

And then later I had another few slices of the new loaf of bread and 2 apples. Kyle thinks it's weird, but apples dipped in hummus are good (really!) so I had 2 of them. Btw, I bought another loaf of the same live sprouted grain bread. Talk about a gluten free dinner!

After laundry, I snacked on these while watching the late night football games (I forgot the Emmy's were on too, oh well).

Gotta pack my lunch for tomorrow now, since I have work workity work!

the day after

So I didn't really wanna write anything on 9/11 (plus I was working all day so it wasn't too interesting).

Let me recap: AM coffee, PM lunch

The exciting part of the day was that Kyle surprised me after work and showed up to meet me for dinner and a walk home. We went to WF for dinner (I ate SO much) and we headed uptown to drop Kyle off at his Spanish tutor, then I walked the rest of the way home and took a day off from the gym :)

The rest of the night I munched on the rest of my WF snacky purchases (yogurt covered pretzels, Stacy's pita crisps, and the massive granola fruit/nut bar)...sorry no pictures, I was feeling guilty about the amount of food I was eating even though I was already extremely full, so the last thing I wanted to do was capture it all on film to relive later. This way I can kinda forget about it (oh how well I know the land of denial).

So on to the day after.

This picture basically sums up the morning. Nothing better than crosswords, coffee, and salty edamame to get the day started right.

I went to the gym for a mini work out since my stomach wasn't really cooperating. I would have skipped it all together normally, but I took yesterday off. In the end I felt better after the gym, so I am glad I pushed myself to go. Lunch was more edamame and this juicy honeydew.

For dinner I made a big salad...tofu and the veggies works.

I had the last of the yogurt covered pretzels for dessert. Those things are AWESOME! Bed time, UCLA plays the Mormons tomorrow (BYU).
